The life of a gymnast… Involves putting every ounce of effort into this grueling yet graceful sport. There’s a difference between the “real” world & the “gymnastics” world. We practically have our own language. A gymnast learns the tru meaning of respect, you respect your coaches, parents, & friends from different points of views. being in the gym more than you are anywhere else teaches you the true meaning of friendship. You not only have your biological family but your family in the gym, they kno you better than you kno yourself. Your real friends kno what you go through & back you up 100%. A gymnast knows she’s becoming that much stronger when… your arms are so sore you can’t lift your fork at dinner, you have to crawl up the stairs because your legs are too tired to climb, your whole body aches & you can’t get out of bed in the morning. Bruises & blisters become a natural thing, your hands are so ripped it burns to wash your hair, & icy hot becomes your new lotion. A gymnast learns dedication when… she’s sick as a dog but she still trains, she knows everyones out & she’s in the gym & doesn’t regret being there. When you battle through injury after injury & still have a positive look on your face. When you have the patience for a skill that’s taken you forever to learn & not get jealous when it takes someone else only a week to perfect. We DEFY gravity, plain & simple. Gymnastics has given me love, respect, friendship, & trust. Its the absalute craziest, hardest yet amazing thing in my life. Gymnastics is my way of life.
